The vision of the founders of the school seeks to see a nation- Ghana in which every child within Akumadan and its environs receives quality education to the highest level possible.
The education received will be based on academic excellence and the development of productive skills which will lead to the development of individuals imbued with honesty, integrity and Christian values. The aim of the founders therefore was not just to educate students but to turn out products with distinction made up of academic excellence and exemplary character.
- THE MISSION OF THE SCHOOL
The mission of the founders was to the students to be liberated through the acquisition of knowledge and to discover their aptitudes and potentialities so as to induce in them the desire for self improvement, and hat, students should appreciate the use of the hand and the mind to make them creative and production oriented.
- THE SCHOOL CREST
The crest is a form of shield. In the middle of the shield is an open Book with a burning torch which signifies knowledge and enlightenment. Below the crest is an inscription which is the school’s motto, which reads as: FIGHT TO CONQUER
- THE HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
The founding of Akumadan Senior High School emerged following an emergency meeting convened by the late Akumadanhene Nana Kofi Nti,the late S.K. Agyapong, the late Agya Amadu Kusi, the late Kofi Petoa, Mr. Ben Dapaa and Mr. K. Oduro Baah on the 12th December,1975 to discuss matters affecting the education of the young ones who failed to seek admission to further their education in other institution. Preferably Dwamena Akenten Senior High School at Offinso having successfully passed the then common Entrance Examinations due to limited vacancies existed.
By the first (1st) of September 1975 Akumadan Senior High School was established with a population of Eighty – eight (88) with fifty boys and thirty-eight girls. Both boys and girls were housed in a rented premises owned by Opanin Akwasi Boateng (alias praise God) and Madam Akua Fowaa. Later on, the boys were moved from Opanin Akwasi Boateng’s house to Eno Abena Anwhere’s house behind the police station.
Under the headship of Mr. P.J. Aguri Amanfo both boys and girls were moved to the current school premises.
It will interest you to note that the school was absorbed into the public system the very year of its establishment.
Akumdan Senior High School is located about 90 km on the Kumasi-Techiman trunk road at Akumadan, District capital of newly created Offinso North District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Specifically, the school is on the left hand-side of the road when one is traveling from Kumasi to Techiman.

The School compound covers an area of about one hundred and forty four acres. Akumadan Township to the West and North but to the East is separated by the Kumasi Techiman highway and to the south by a teak plantation project.

- INFRASTRUCTURE/ FACILITIES
The school has one administration block which contains a library, Assistant Headmasters’ offices both Administration and Academic.
It is a big hall which serves as both dining and assembly hall. It can accommodate about six hundred students at a time.
There are five separate classroom blocks.
- .CO-CURRICULA ACTIVITIES
The chaplaincy is made up of the school chaplain, the Moslem worship and the various religious associations namely PENSA CHATSU PMSU FASU GNASS and the scripture union (SU). It also has five members of staff in it board.
